Brownville Historical Society Grateful to the Community for the Success of 18th Annual Golf Classic Fundraiser

The Brownville Historical Society (BHS) Golf Committee had its most successful tournament fundraiser yet on the 22nd of August at the Auburn Country Club.

The day started with registration and coffee and rolls for the golfers and volunteers.  Twelve teams were able to participate in a day of golf, fun and relaxation.  Lunch was provided by BHS and served by volunteers as the teams completed their 18th hole.  Immediately following lunch, the winners of the tournament’s 1st and 2nd flights were announced and the pin prizes where given out.  Silent Auction winners were announced and the raffle drawing began!  Many great raffle prizes donated by businesses, friends and neighbors of BHS made for a fun time

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit ongoing museum renovation and construction projects which include the Carriage House and Spurgin Dental Office and will also provide operational funds lost to BHS due to COVID-19 which will help them to continue to serve the public.

The Golf Committee - Nick Andrew, Bob Chitwood, Rick Janssen, Sharon Hessler, Chris Kennedy, Elaine Knapp, Deb Solie and Terry Vice and the Brownville Historical Society Board thank all the golfers, volunteers, businesses, individuals and the Auburn Country Club, for their support of the tournament.  Sharon Hessler, Tournament Chair noted how proud she was of all the efforts put forward by everyone on BHS’s behalf to make this a success.
